Why Video?

Why should I bother having my wedding filmed? I’ll have my photos to look at!

That’s right! Look at!

No feeling, No emotion, No sound!

If you had the choice of looking at a picture of your great-grandpa giving a toast to the new couple…or…actually hearing the toast and seeing that tear roll down his cheek with emotion and actually hearing a voice from a bygone time, which would you choose?

Photographs only capture a moment in time that stops. Film lets that photograph go beyond that moment with a living record of that hectic day with full emotion and sound.

Many brides have said after the wedding that it went by so fast that they barely remember what happened. Those that got their weddings filmed can relive that day over and over again. Those that got photographs have to look at the picture and try to remember what that moment and emotion was like.

Ask your friends where their wedding photo albums are…they probably couldn’t tell you. And if they could, they would probably have to blow the dust off before opening the album! Then, you would have to sit and listen to them explain each picture!

Now, I’m not saying, “Don’t get a photographer”. Just be informed what the differences are between photo and video, and why you should have both.

On a personal note, I have a copy of my parent’s wedding album from 1965. What I wouldn’t give to see their wedding in motion and sound!
